Maybe the Last one!!

Well... This may be the last update before we move in. I don't know if we will have time, or if there will be any major things to post on the site until we move in. All is now complete on the house except carpeting! Today they painted all the trim and doors, and put the stone on the garage. Mostly I will let you just see the images. If carpet goes in by the weekend I might do a final with that. Otherwise I al glad you took the time to stay in the loop on our home construction.

Kitchen & Bath

So I know I have not been posting... I have several excuses for this, but mainly I am lazy and the progress has been really hard to photograph. Further, since it gets dark at FRIGGIN NOON now its very hard to get good images. Enjoy a few pictures of the kitchen and bathroom cabinets.

Siding and Insulation

So a variety of images from the past week. I have not been as motivated to blog about the goings on. I think there are several reasons for this including the late nights I have had trying to get off work, visit the house, come home make food, and then editing weddings. THANK GOD I just am finishing my last wedding for 2008. Now on to the other reasons I have not been keeping my many (1-3) regular viewers informed First, there has been very little progress to document. Second, I have been a lazy bum. Well here is what has been happening. The construction guys took an extended weekend and did not work from Wed of last week until today. That being said they got some major work done today. They put about 1/2 the siding on, and left the hardest part for I am guessing tomorrow. The insulation guy did his part and put all that in today as well. They also put in the gas lines, installed the electricity (notice the working electric meter), and water as well. No pun intended and we aren't even on a well. I also finally got some pictures of the roof in the daylight so those are on here tonight. Have fun with the pics and I will try to keep the site more current, 2-3 times a week updates and a weekend update with pictures from daytime. I also really want to do a video walk through of the house this next weekend.

Electric meter (working)
The basement all insulated. It was amazing the difference the insulation made even tonight when we were in the house.
Kitchen all ready for drywall I think.
The inside of the roof. The put some sort of carboard up there for insulatio I am guessing. We wills ee...

Our siding about 2/3 the way up the back walls. Nothign on the front yet.
Kind athe same as above...

Adding Some Heat

Well I have been slacking big time on my blog duties. There really has not been much to speak of. This was a slow week with lots of things going on. They added all the plumbing and started working on the HVAC. That's about 75% done as of this posting. I think tomorrow they will finish it. Someone came through and found all the messed up stuff and labeled it to be fixed. That a good thing I guess because while it would better if it wasn't messed up in the first place, at least someone is inspecting the work to make sure its right. I don't know if it was a framing inspector or a Viking guy. I think Viking because they also noted all the changes we wanted done and I don't know that the inspector would know that the walk-in closet door needed to be reframed per our change?!?!?! Anyways enjoy a few images.

A Slightly Overdue Update

Okay, so this week was fun but not as exciting to tell people about as when they were constructing walls and stuff. Its still really fun to see the progress but its just not as noticeable from the street or from my pictures. On Thursday house wrap was put on and all the windows were sealed off. On Friday the plumbers showed up and started rough plumbing. Oh yeah... They also out the entry closet in on Thursday as well. Enjoy the pictures, I think another video may show up soon.
This is the plumbing in the utility closet that will have the hot water heater in it.

We Got a Roof... and Some Windows!

So today we went out and were once again surprised. They installed all the windows and temp exterior doors. As expected they also finished putting the roof on. So now we will see what is next. I think they will do the house wrap, but who knows.
