Layin' Some Pipe

So today was very interesting. Until today I couldn't figure out why they had done the garage floor and not the basement. Then when we pulled up it hit me... They can't do the basement until they rough plumb it! And today thats exactly what they did. all the rough lines were in and so were the sewage lines. It was cool to get to see where everything is, and we have pictures to document it... Just in case... I always wondered how they can lay plumbing under concrete without testing it. Today we saw how they do that. All the water lines were capped off and they have pressure gauges at both ends. Then they pressurize the lines with air and leave it. If when they come back the pressure is the same then its a good fit and no leaks. At least thats my interpretation of what was going on.

On to the pictures.

FIRST ONE IN THE NEW HOUSE!!!!!
The downstairs bathroom, laundry room, and hot water heater connections.
Another angle of the downstairs water stuff.
A close-up of the connection for the downstairs tub/shower drain and water lines.
This shows the lines for the laundry.
One overall picture of the work done today. Drains and such as well as the line that will eventually run to the kitchen and upstairs baths/ (barely visible in the lower right of the picture)

This step by step stuff is great. Maybe we'll figure out how to build a house from start to finish just from reading this blog! Just kidding... kinda. :)
