Well as you can see the basement floor was poured today. They also backfilled all around the foundation. Most notably they delivered all the wood for framing and such. It weird to think that all of that will will soon be a friggin house!!! Well the framing and rough stuff. we still will need some minor stuff like:
Drywall, Electricity/Wiring, Plumbing, Roofing, Siding, Cabinets, Carpet and other flooring, Paint, Trim, Fixtures (Lighting and Water), Windows and Doors, HVAC units and a few other things.
Heck this doesn't seem like much. Maybe we should just go bust this thing out! finish it up next weekend!

The finished concrete downstairs. The area with the tubes sticking up will be the lower level bath/laundry.

All this will soon be the frame of our home.

One more angle, look at all that beautiful wood.

I took a very similar image to this one the other day for comparison and just wanted you all to see it as well. Just go back a couple days and you will see the image w/out concrete.

A nice wide shot of the newly poured concrete. Again that is the basement and the area closest to the camera will be the crawl space under the living room and kitchen on the main floor.

I can't seem to get the hang of this comment thing. one time it will take, the next time it won't. Good day for progress. They backfilled with some good dirt, file that away for future needs.
I am glad they used good dirt and not the stuff they dug up. First, it implies that they are a quality builder using good materials. Second, Mel and I plan on planting around the house and not having grass right up to the foundation so it should make for a good flower bed.
